Choices at 16-18
All of us has, and will experience that same difficult question when approaching the end of school and GCSE or A-Level results – What do I do now?
There are a lot of options out there, which ultimately means there are choices to be made.
The typical choices are pretty much the same after GCSE's, find work straight from school, take a-levels, or go to university, but what about the apprenticeship path?
After A-Level exams, the choice may not be quite as difficult as you may have been working towards university - or you may well find that you're now looking for an alternative to university and education as you may now be craving the world of paid work!
Apprenticeships are a great way to achieve both academic qualifications, whilst at the same time earning a wage and gaining that all important work experience.
At Positive Outcomes we are confident we have the right apprenticeship for you. We can offer you a wide range of apprenticeships in different areas, such as Customer Service, Retail, Business Administration, IT, Estate Agency and Sales.
By choosing an apprenticeship this can lead to a career in a number of different industries and sectors, something that does not always happen when leaving college or University for example.
If for instance you were to choose a customer service apprenticeship, you could have a choice from a number of different industries, as every business needs customer service! Although the industries may differ, some of the tasks will be similar, such as dealing with customer enquiries, and being approachable and friendly.
But this may not suit you; you may be a more technical minded person.
The IT apprenticeship might match your skills, especially if you have good experience at school of using important software such as, word, excel and publisher, then this could be the apprenticeship for you.
Or alternatively a more hands-on apprenticeship could benefit you, such as the warehousing and distribution award, where you will earn your qualification and work within a warehouse environment, learning all the important jobs that go into running an efficient warehouse.
So, could an apprenticeship be what you’re looking for?
